Dates taken from Cogan, ABD, 1: 1005-11 (for alternate see Thiele, Albright; also see Walton and Hill, 208). Saul’s timing unclear—cf. 1 Sam 13:1 MT (NRSV and ESV trans. gets the basic sense); (if from Acts 13:21 is “40” stylized?).
